EasyLink/MyLink FM system

6 Nov

A personal frequency modulation (FM) system uses radio waves to send speech and other signals to hearing-aids. FM is the same type of signal used as on your FM radio, except it’s tuned to a frequency band designated for personal use that is in turn tuned in to the hearing aid. It will help the child to hear background noise and also at distances. It can be used when speaking at home, for TV, for classroom, at church, in the car or other activities and it will usually transmit up to about 45 metres.

We use FM systems in the classroom so that the students with hearing aids are better supported and can clearly hear the teacher’s instructions. This ensures better participation in the teaching and learning programme without having to have one on one individual attention to the student.
