Bara Battle

Every year on a random Saturday, we get to see individuals running with wheelbarrows around Suva City. These aren’t individuals looking for their next maintenance gig but rather participants for the most awaited and highly anticipated Frank Hilton Amazing Wheelbarrow Race. The Great Bara Battle!!

The Bara Battle has become a much sought after event ever since the first race held back in 2016. Corporate organizations such as Vodafone, TFL, Vinod Patel, Standss South Pacific, Harcourts and many more are avid supporters and participants of the race, not merely as a part of their corporate social responsibility, but also as a team building activity for their staff.


As a charitable Organization, we receive funding from the Government of Fiji and development partners, however, we are left to raise over 20% of our total annual operating expenditure to ensure continuity of services.

How to join the Battle?
The Bara Battle is a three round relay race around Albert Park. You need a team of four to eight members and a Wheelbarrow to participate. The entry fees is $5000 FJD.
 

Want to support the cause but can't run the race physically? Don't worry we've got you

covered! You can join the VIRTUAL RACE by downloading the Amazing Wheelbarrow Race App.

The Virtual Race is run around the island of Viti Levu and you can compete and gather donations not just locally but internationally as well. Every donation makes your wheelbarrow move closer to the finish line. It takes $4800 FJD to complete the race.
